Paint Decor Studio

Paint Decor Studio is the home of Denver mural artist Michelle Frances and, on occasion, a few of her awesomely talented friends. Michelle's art includes murals, decorative paint effects, faux finishes and decorative plasters in addition to portraits, pet portraits and custom fine art pieces. Please take a few minutes to browse this site and don't miss the archive (as there is more photos there than anywhere else). If you are using Explorer and having trouble viewing pictures go to the archive and you should be able to see images there.

Permalink Mural map of all Colorado’s ski resorts. This mural is on the hood of the den fireplace in a Dillon, Colorado home.
This mural was so much fun to design and paint as it incorporates so many of my favorite things; lettering, vintage poster vignettes, and maps (especially of CO).
Permalink Decorative Art Deco pin striping on a conference room TV cabinet. This is done with silver leaf.
Permalink What to do with that weird niche that is in every wine cellar… a mural.
This is a personalized wine label created for this home. A rendering of the home’s exterior, the owner’s sir name, and the year the home was built are all included in the label.
Permalink Ice Cream flavors board. Chalkboard for Snowcap Creamery in Erie, Colorado. Snowcap is one of the lucky places that gets to sell Liks ice cream which is some of the best of what the glorious state of Colorado has to offer! Homemade/ homegrown yumminess!!!!
Permalink ‘Chalkboard’ menu board for Erie, CO restaurant.
Permalink Here is what to do with that crazy nook that every wine cellar has and no one knows what to do with.  I painted this ‘wine label’ on a sheet of masonite which had been cut to fit the space.  I used the owner’s name and the nautical theme of the house in the label design.

Permalink Ten thousand ton antique safe in the Idaho Springs Beau Jo’s Pizza.  The safe has been sitting in the same spot for 100 years (literally) and needed a bit of fresh paint.  The building used to be a bank.  Idaho Springs was a gold mining hub in Colorado for many years…. think Molly Brown, gunslingers, and crooked sheriffs.  This safe probably saw quite a bit of action.  Recently though it was just getting coated in layers and layers of restaurant filth.  There are two sets of HEAVY iron doors… the paint on the inner doors was still in great condition so I mimicked that painting style on the outside.
